Larimar, often referred to as the "Dolphin Stone" or "Atlantis Stone," is an enchanting gemstone prized for its breathtaking shades of blue and green. It is found exclusively in the Dominican Republic. Miguel Méndez, the Dominican who discovered the stone, combined his daughter's name, Larissa, with the Spanish word "mar," meaning "sea," to form "larimar."
